Transcendent indie darling Journey hits PC shores next week

Publisher Annapurna Interactive has finally announced the release date for the PC port of their highly-acclaimed PlayStation exclusive adventure game Journey. PC users will be able to experience the seminal title next week on June 6th. Pre-orders are live now on the Epic game Store with substantial discounts.

When Journey launched for the first time in 2012 for the PlayStation 3, the gaming industry was in a very different state. The indie scene in particular was just at the brink of breaking out into mainstream success, and Journey was no doubt one of the more important titles to bolster that trend. Journey released to extraordinary critical success and even went on to win many important Game of the Year Awards.

Explore the ancient, mysterious world of Journey as you soar above ruins and glide across sands to discover its secrets. Play alone or in the company of a fellow traveler and explore its vast world together. Featuring stunning visuals and a Grammy-nominated musical score, Journey delivers a breathtaking experience like no other.

Now, after seven long years, the extraordinary serene adventure with a very unique multiplayer aspect gets a second lease by arriving on a whole new platform. And even those who played the game in its original form on the PS3 will be able to replay it with increased resolutions and framerates.

Journey also made headlines during the launch of the Epic Games Store late last year, as it will be exclusively available through Epic’s storefront on the PC. Interested readers should take note that pre-orders are live now. Even better news is that while the game will be sold at a regular price of $14.99 it can be purchased right now for just $4.99. This comes as part of Epic’s first sale, the Epic Mega Sale. All games that retail at $14.99 or higher can be purchased at an extra $10 off courtesy of Epic. Head on over to the game’s page on the Epic Games Store here and get your copy for extra cheap.
