Transistor is like Bastion, but in the future

Supergiant Games, the studio responsible for bringing us Bastion, has revealed their new game Transistor. Set in a futuristic setting, this science-fiction-themed action RPG stars a young woman, referred to as Red in the trailer, who wields an "extraordinary weapon of unknown origin." As you can see by the accompanying trailer and screenshots, Transistor features similar stylized graphics and isometric gameplay as Bastion, but in a futuristic setting. Some may also recognize the vocal talents of Ashley Barrett, who also appeared on Bastion's soundtrack.

"In Transistor, players assume the role of a young woman who gains control of a powerful weapon after a mysterious group of assailants nearly kills her with it," Supergiant explained. "Now she must fight from street to street against forces that will stop at nothing to recover the weapon. During the course of the adventure, players will piece together the Transistor’s mysteries as they pursue its former owners."

Transistor is expected to be released in early 2014. A playable build will be present at PAX East, though the game's platforms have yet to be announced; Supergiant has "not yet decided" on what platforms it should launch for.
