To football fans, he's known as Zeus. But to gamers, Kansas City Chiefs Tight End Travis Kelce may more closely resemble an iconic Nintendo character — especially after last Sunday's touchdown celebration.
For those who missed it, in last week's game against the Houston Texans, Travis Kelce, on his way into the end zone for a touchdown, wound up multiple times and punched the ball after he scored. The celebration was dubbed by fans as the "Fist of Zeus."

It's clever, but not entirely accurate. You see, Kelce's touchdown was inspired by something else, and he admitted as much in an interview with the NFL Network. While gamers probably already recognize the wind up, Kelce explained he actually got the idea from the game Super Smash Bros. — it's actually a move by Donkey Kong.
"Donkey Kong was the original Fist of Zeus," Kelce admitted. Just for comparison, here's the inspiration.
It appears the Chiefs are pretty big Nintendo fans. Earlier this month, outside linebacker Tamba Hali posted an Instagram video showing off a few players on the team participating in a riveting game of Mario Kart on 3DS.
