Trials Fusion gets online tournaments with free update today

Trials Fusion has received a free update today — the first of many planned by Ubisoft — that brings online tournaments to the game. It also adds 10 player-created tracks that can be accessed on all platforms through Track Central.

Through online tournaments, you now have the chance to show off your skills in a variety of challenges. You will be able to see how you stack up against other players as well. Each tournament will run for a limited time, allowing you multiple opportunities to place on the leaderboards. Based on your final position, you can earn all sorts of rewards including rider gear, bike parts, in-game cash, and experience points.

While today's update is free, Ubisoft has plans to release six pieces of downloadable content for Trials Fusion starting this summer. Each piece will be sold separately or you can opt to purchase the Trials Fusion Season Pass for $19.99 which offers a total savings of $10. Future DLC will add new tracks, bike parts, rider gear, items for the track editor and Career Mode Events.

If you've yet to play Trials Fusion, a demo for the platform racer is now available for free on Xbox One.
