Try out Splatoon for free on May 23

Splatoon, Nintendo’s new family-friendly shooter that covers levels and players with paint, is about to release at the end of May. To give players a better sense of the game, Nintendo had a Global Testfire a week ago. If you missed out on that, don't worry, Nintendo has announced that another Global Testfire is coming before the game's launch.

On May 23, Splatoon's 4v4 multiplayer turf war mode will be playable from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m PT. That's 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. for us east coast gamers. To play, just download the Splatoon Global Testfire software from the Wii U eShop. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

Splatoon launches in stores and on the eShop on May 29. Until then, check out 5 things you may not know about Splatoon!
