Donald Faison — better known as Turk from Scrubs — is in talks to join the cast of Kick-Ass 2. He would be playing Dr. Gravity, a baseball bat-wielding masked man who joins Kick-Ass and fights alongside him. Faison, while best known for the tv sitcom medical comedy, has experience on the big screen with Skyline (didn't see it) and Remember the Titans ("Sunshine… all that rubbin ain't gonna make them golden locks grow back no faster now").
Faison joins returning cast members Aaron Johnson, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Chloe Moretz and Nicolas Cage, and newcomer John Leguizamo. Leguizamo is said to be playing the Red Mist's bodyguard. I haven't read the Kick-Ass 2 comic book, so I don't know how Nic Cage's Big Daddy character can be in the movie when he was fatally set on fire in the first one. Maybe flashbacks?
Kick-Ass 2 is being written and directed by Jeff Wadlow, and it is based on the comic of the same name by Mark Miler and John S. Romita Jr. The director of Kick-Ass, Matthew Vaughn, is producing the sequel.
Kick-Ass 2 has a 2013 release date, but no specific date was confirmed.
