Turtle Beach unveils new Star Wars Battlefront gaming headset

Gaming peripheral giant Turtle Beach has revealed their exclusive, limited edition Star Wars Battlefront gaming headset.

The design appears to be inspired by the Sandtrooper, the squad of Stormtroopers who are deployed to the desert planet of Tatooine in search of Luke, R2-D2, and C-3PO in Star Wars: A New Hope. You can see the signature organge mark which resembles the shoulder pauldron the Sandtroopers wear in the film. The speaker plates, which can be swapped out to show off different Star Wars characters and iconic franchise moments, also have dirt marks on them to represent the desert sands of Tatooine.

As for the specs, the Star Wars Battlefront headset features an over-ear design for extended comfort, a removable high-sensitivity boom mic, and 50mm speakers. PAX Prime attendees can get a first look at the new Star Wars-themed gaming headset this weekend at the Turtle Beach Booth.

The Trutle Beach Sandtrooper Star Wars Battlefront headset is compatible with PS4, XBox One, PC, and mobile devices.

The standard version of Turtle Beach's Sandtrooper headset will be sold in the UK (£69.99 GBP), Australia ($169.00 AUD), and in select territories across Europe (€99.99 EUR), while a limited edition version will be sold only at Best Buy in the United States ($99.95 USD). The Best Buy limited edition comes with a second set of swappable Star Wars speaker plates for free.

The Star Wars Battlefront Sandtrooper headset will be available on November 1st, just in time for the launch of Star Wars Battlefront on November 17th. As a reminder, on Friday, September 4th — a day that has now become known as "Force Friday" — Star Wars fans will get their first look at Disney's new line of Star Wars toys themed after The Force Awakens.
