Turtle Rock giving Evolve players free Gold Skins this weekend

Turtle Rock Studios has made a pretty cool announcement this morning. In the game, there are skins called the Turtle Rock Gold Skins. They are molten-gold skins for the monsters that help identify developers in-game. They have been exclusively for the development team. Until now.

Turtle Rock will be giving players the skins for free this weekend to show their appreciation to the community. All you have to do is play a few rounds of Evolve this weekend, and they will give you the TRS Gold Skins for Goliath, Kraken and Wraith for free. So play an Evolve match between 9:00 PM PT on Thursday March 5 and 9:00 PM PT on Sunday March 8, and you'll get the skin. You'll have the skin delivered to you after the weekend ends, but before March 14.

That's a pretty cool thing Turtle Rock is doing for fans of their game. My only question, now how will players know when they are playing with devs?

The Hunt for Gold weekend event is just one of many various events Turtle Rock has planned. Other challenges in the future might revolve around the community to collectively achieve specific in-game milestones for in-game rewards.

We reviewed Evolve at release. Despite repetitiveness in modes and characters, the game offers replayability thanks, in part, to its addictive competitive nature. Read our full review here. It was recently announced that Evolve will get a free Observer mode, as well.
