Twilight’s Kellan Lutz is in talks to play He-Man

From Hercules to He-Man? Wouldn't be too much of a stretch.

'Twilight' actor, Kellan Lutz, has supposedly been in talks with director, McG, about starring in the 'He-Man and the Masters of the Universe' reboot.

It was reported last year that Sony Pictures and Escape Artists were optioning a reboot of the classic '80's animated series, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. The project is expected to be helmed by the director of 'Terminator: Salvation', McG, with Alex Litvak and Mike Finch attached to write. Now, it seems that Kellan Lutz, star of the recent box office flop, 'The Legend of Hercules' (NOT the one with Dwayne Johnson), is in talks to portray the titular hero, Prince Adam/He-Man.

The last time He-Man was seen in a live-action adaptation, it was in the unwatchable 1987 mess known only as 'Masters of the Universe'. The low-budget project took place on Earth, instead of the magical realm of Eternia, and starred Dolph Lundgren as He-Man and Frank Langella as the evil Skeletor.

While Lutz is trying his hardest to break through onto the mainstream following his success with the Twilight franchise, his recent films have fallen short of any real staying power. With any hope, the latest incarnation of the beloved cartoon series won't follow in the damning footsteps of its predecessor.
