Twisted Metal, due out February 14th, has officially gone gold in North America.
Even better, it was just revealed that the game will include a very sweet skin for Starhawk. Announced via the PlayStation blog, every copy of Twisted Metal will include a FREE voucher for a Sweet Tooth Outcast Multiplyaer skin for Starhawk. In addition to this, if you pre-order Twisted Metal you'll get early access to Axel and a free upgrade to the Limited Edition that comes with a code to download Twisted Metal: Black.
Yesterday, Eat Sleep Play boss David Jaffe took to his vlog and revealed that there will be a pre-launch demo for Twisted Metal.
"There will be a demo," Jaffe confirmed. "It will definitely hit before the game comes out on February 14th."
He detailed, "It will have a couple of modes, a level. There will be a single-player component so you can get a sense of the bots and sort of what that's about. I know we're doing the nuke mode and straight-up death match."
In addition, Jaffe also announced a "very, very, very small" day one patch for the game, despite his "hate" for patches.
"I've gone on record: I hate patches. But that said – they're important in some cases."
In the case of Twisted Metal, it addresses "a couple of bugs", but is primarily dedicated to implementing last minute balance tweaks.
"Once you go gold, you have a couple of weeks to really play the game, and me and the QA guys, we're just like, 'You know, this seems a little unbalanced. It would be really cool if this weapon did a little less damage.' It takes a lot of time to suss those things out," Jaffe explained.
