Gameloft's Asphalt 8: Airborne will be the first ever mobile game to feature Twitch live streaming functionality. Twitch announced the new Twitch Mobile Software Development Kit earlier this month, giving developers the option to build streaming functionality into their game.
"This first-ever mobile game integration with Twitch opens the door for gamers to broadcast and share game play experiences like never before," said Baudouin Corman, Gameloft's VP of Publishing for the Americas. "As one of our most popular games, Asphalt 8: Airborne made perfect sense to integrate the Twitch mobile SDK, and we can't wait to see the excitement it brings to our users."
Asphalt 8: Airborne is an arcade racing game where players race against the AI or other real world players, while performing dynamic, high-speed aerial stunts. In addition to broadcasting capabilities, Twitch integration will also unlock a slew of other interactive functions including the ability to stream your voice and image using the iOS device's microphone and front-facing camera, and monitor chat from stream viewers. Additionally, you can archive your streams and share them from the web.
Gameloft will be demonstrating the game's broadcasting capabilities during the Game Developers Conference this week.
