The CW's Supergirl has finally found its next Clark Kent/Superman to be played by Tyler Hoechlin.
It was recently announced that with 'Supergirl' making the move from CBS to the CW network, they were finally on the hunt to cast the latest incarnation of TV's Superman. After a grueling process, the role will be filled by MTV's Teen Wolf star, Tyler Hoechlin.
Up until this point, Superman has only made cameos in the form of blurred dots in the sky or a cape flapping just off frame. Despite being Kara/Supergirl's cousin, there was never any real interaction or appearance. Now that 'Supergirl' is under a new network, the decision was made to finally give viewers what they've been asking for and actually cast the role. Hoechlin will be the first television Superman since Tom Welling exited the role in 2011 with the end of 'Smallville'. The man of steel is slated to make his first appearance for Supergirl's two-part season premiere…and possibly for the planned four-way CW/DC series crossover between Supergirl, The Flash, Arrow, and Legends of Tomorrow.
