As both a Witcher and Game of Thrones fan, this news brings dark happiness to my heart. The actor who plays Tywin Lannister, Charles Dance, in the HBO show Game of Thrones, will be voicing Emperor Emhyr var Emreis in Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. You may also recognize British actor Charles Dance from Alien 3 and Last Action Hero.
“Charles Dance is the perfect candidate to play the mighty Nilfgaardian emperor in our upcoming title. It’s a dream come true for the team here at RED to be able to work with such an accomplished actor and magnetic personality,” said Marcin Blacha, Lead Writer for the title.
If you’ve watched Game of Thrones (if you haven’t, that is your homework) you know that Tywin Lannister is a no nonsense bad a@#. He is ruthless in a highly efficient way, I can’t imagine him playing an emperor poorly. I will go as far to say he’ll voice act the s@#$ out of that roll. I want Witcher 3, I want it bad.
