Ubisoft announced that they will be hosting an Open Beta for The Division 2 between March 1st-4th. That should give players on the fence or those who just couldn’t get enough during last week’s closed beta plenty of opportunity to experience the game before it’s launch on March 15.
Players who pre-ordered The Division 2 or were lucky enough to be chosen, already had the chance to take part in a Closed Beta last week. As we reported back then, the beta looked like a great and meaty taster for what’s in store in the final release. It doesn’t really come as a surprise that an open beta is now also going to happen but it’s still a welcome thing nonetheless. This open beta will be playable on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. PC players should also remember that the game will exclusively available on the newly-established Epic Game Store or Ubisoft’s own Uplay.
It’s likely that the open beta is going feature the same content as the closed one but Ubisoft hasn’t yet disclosed in great detail what it is going to entail. We’re not expecting a separate package however, as so close to the game’s launch it’d be pretty foolish to waste extra resources when there is a beta existing already, and time and effort could be much better used to polish the final game.
Stay tuned for more info about the Open Beta as Ubisoft shares more news soon. In the meantime make sure to check out the Closed Beta trailer to get an idea what’s likely to be playable come March 1st.
