There's no denying that Ubisoft's upcoming game, The Division, has been seeing plenty of attention recently. In fact, the closed beta hit server capacity before all of the beta codes were even sent out in some locations. With the open beta coming next week, hype for the game is reaching an all-time high, so it's no surprise that Ubisoft is feeling the hype as well.
Co-Founder and CEO of Ubisoft, Yves Guillmot, believes that The Division will be breaking records in the game industry when it releases.
"The Division – whose recent closed beta exceeded all of our expectations – is set to be one of the largest launches of a new brand in the history of the video game industry."
Guillmot's statement probably isn't solely founded on the amount of people that joined the beta, but on the amount of people that have pre-ordered the game all together. Heck, he might even be considering the gamers that will purchase the game without pre-ordering it first!
Ubisoft is projecting that their fourth quarter sales from 2015 to 2016 will hit approximately €591 million ($664 million), in comparison to the fourth quarter of 2014-15 that reached €170 million ($191 million).
