I'll be honest, I personally prefer Heroes of Might & Magic 4 to the just announced HD Edition of Heroes 3, but alas, I think I might be in the minority. Heroes of Might & Magic 3 HD Edition will be releasing January 29, 2015, and it will be coming to PC as well as iOS and Android tablets for the first time!
The Heroes of Might & Magic series revolves around playing as one of a few varied factions, as you vie for control of the land by any means necessary (usually force). You must build up your army, occupy territory, take over castles and ultimately crush your foes.
Here is the official description of the game by Ubisoft:
Take part in Queen Catherine Ironfist’s quest to unite her homeland and re-conquer the kingdom of Erathia. Thanks to the upgraded graphics, you can now enjoy this story on wide screens. Take part in 7 campaign scenarios, 48 skirmish maps, local multiplayer and a map editor (only available on PC). Steam users will also have access to a new online multiplayer lobby where they can share their adventure with other members of the community. With your mighty heroes, lead fantastic creatures into strategic turn-based battle and determine the fate of the Erathia.
