Ubisoft CEO says next Assassin’s Creed will be ‘biggest to date’

Whether it's for better or worse, Assassin's Creed is turning into Call of Duty; by that I mean releasing yearly titles. The demand for assassins is high, as millions picked up Assassin's Creed: Revelations despite it being called the "worst" game in the series, though it was a solid addition. Ubisoft is hard at work on another title in the series (we hope it's Assassin's Creed III), and their CEO says it will be the "biggest to date."

In a recent interview, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot told MCV, "Assassin’s Creed is an incredible franchise and there are a lot of expectations that it will continue to grow,” he said. ”We are pleased with our continued success so far: in the U.S., Assassin’s Creed: Revelations was a Top Ten title for the entire calendar year, which shows that the demand is definitely there.”

He added that the company plans to continue their yearly Assassin's Creed titles, expanding their audience to other platforms (PS Vita?), and that this year's title will be the biggest yet. "We’re confident that the next installment of Assassin’s Creed will be the biggest to date.”

While it's not set in stone that this year we will see Assassin's Creed III, it can be a probable bet that we do see it. Revelations wasn't the game that fans thought it would be, and with Ezio's story finished, the spotlight turns to Desmond and the present times. Ubisoft has practically set up an entire story with Desmond, and with their physics engine, assassinating people in 2012 could be quite enjoyable. Okay, I lied, it would be awesome. ​Please Ubisoft, give us what we want.
