Yves Guillemot, the CEO of Ubisoft, has indicated that the company is currently in talks about a Netflix TV series.
The announcement came after Vivendi continues their attempt at a hostile takeover of the independent Ubisoft by increasing their shares percentage to over 20%. According to French law, once a shareholder reaches 30% they are required a seat on the board, which is something Ubisoft does not want.
No word on what the Netflix series would be about, but there are only so many choices available. Assassin's Creed is a good movie IP but really doesn't tie in well for a TV series. On the other hand, something like Far Cry would make a better TV series than film due to how it could be stretched out over multiple episodes. With the recent success of Activision's Skylanders Academy on Netflix, Ubisoft will surely want to go with a more established property over something new, like For Honor for example.
