Ubisoft has released a new trailer for its online-only co-op survival-shooter Ghost Recon Breakpoint. According to it, the somewhat disappointing game is going to finally receive AI teammates for players who rather enjoy playing alone. Check out the trailer below!
Let’s not beat around the bush. When Breakpoint initially came out last year, the game immediately became a massive cause for fan outrage due to a plethora of bugs, baffling design decisions, microtransactions, and a general lack of polish. It especially hurt players who were hoping for the sequel to raise the bar from the excellent Ghost Recon Wildlands. But instead, it ended up playing limbo with said bar.
What started as a meme treasure trove and plenty of outrage videos on Youtube, quickly became forgotten. But if there is one publisher who has proven that they can turn around a game in a grand fashion, it’s Ubisoft. After plenty of bug fixes, QoL improvements, changes to the in-game economy, and deep design changes we are now greeted with arguably one of the biggest changes to Ghost Recon Breakpoint.
Get ready to form your team and become a Ghost. You will be part of an elite team of US Special Forces soldiers trapped behind enemy lines. Fight with your squad against the Wolves, and become stronger together.
With the addition of AI teammates, one of the biggest and arguably best features of Wildlands is returning to Breakpoint. It remains to be seen whether Ubisoft will also change the game from being online-only to being playable offline, but this news could be a sign for it.
Today, we only get a teaser at the future of Breakpoint. For a full reveal of AI teammates and more information about the future direction of the game, make sure to watch this weekend’s Ubisoft Forward game showcase event. Breakpoint will make an appearance in the pre-show directly before the main gig, so don’t forget to tune in early.
