Ubisoft announced today that they, along with Massive Entertainment, are developing an Avatar game based on the James Cameron movie franchise.
The game will be made in conjunction with Lightstorm Entertainment and 20th Century Fox with a current release window of 2018. Cameron does have four Avatar movies in the works with the first set to start filming in August and release in 2018. The remaining three films have tentative release windows so far but have been subject to recent delays.
The first Avatar game, also by Ubisoft, was James Cameron's Avatar the Video Game released in 2009. No details were announced by Ubisoft other than it will release on consoles and PC using the Snowdrop engine. Most likely this means Xbox One, PS4, and PC with possibly Nintendo Switch, but it's anyone's guess as to possible DLC exclusivity which Ubisoft likes to do.
