Ubisoft heard the cries.
That weird, clown-faced NPC who stood in the background in the beginning of Assassin’s Creed II in the Ezio Collection has been patched out of the game.
Ubisoft released patch 1.02 for the collection, which included these “fixes.”
-
#Visual
- Fixed – A weird NPC face appears in Assassin’s Creed 2 Sequence 1, Memory 1
-
#Sound
- Fixed – Background music stops after performing a synchronization on a view point in Assassin’s Creed 2
The Ezio Collection was supposed to be a remaster of the last-gen Ezio games, but the oddly shaped/colored character was first revealed in a graphics comparison video and became an internet sensation.
In fact, the weird NPC became so popular that Ubisoft had to publicly address the issue, saying:
"The NPC in question only appears in Sequence 1, Memory 1 in Assassin's Creed 2 and is randomly generated, appearing infrequently," a spokesperson said. "The graphics issue does not affect the core gameplay of Assassin's Creed The Ezio Collection.
"Overall, Assassin's Creed The Ezio Collection has been well-received by fans and newcomers to the franchise alike. Here at Ubisoft, we've been happy to read all the great feedback from gamers as they've stepped back in time to relive the adventures of our beloved Ezio."
Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection is available now on Xbox One and PS4.
