Ubisoft pokes fun at themselves by “leaking” their next game in a Watch Dogs 2 easter egg

Watch Dogs 2 releases tomorrow but some folks who managed to get their hands on an early copy discovered a cheeky little easter egg. The easter egg can be found at Ubisoft's headquarters within the game where you hack into their computer to discover a "confidential E3 trailer". It's unclear what the game in the trailer is but it appears to be some sort of space, sci-fi game.

One interesting thing to take note of is that the music heard in this new trailer is VERY reminiscent to the original teaser trailer for Beyond Good and Evil 2 back in 2008. After being silent for nearly a decade, Ubisoft confirmed that Beyond Good and Evil 2 is in development earlier this year so this could be some sort of teaser for that. There's not much else to say about the trailer but there is another layer to this easter egg!

Players can also hack into a cell phone conversation between two Ubisoft employees referencing their history of leaked trailers for the Assassin's Creed series which seem to be a tradition for the series at this point. “Can you assure me [the trailer won’t be leaked]? After what happened with Unity, Syndicate, Osiris–”

Some rumors have been circulating for a while now that the next Assassin's Creed (which is rumored for 2017 but could launch after that if needed) will take place in Egypt and focus around empires could be code named Osiris.
