Ubisoft posts E3 interview about The Division — the setting, bad guys, RPG gameplay and more

In a post to Ubiblog, senior communications manager Gary Steinman posted a video on The Division. The video is an interview from the E3 showfloor with Game Director Ryan Barnard.

In the 3:44 interview, which you can watch below, Barnard touches on a little of everything — the game's setting, enemies, open-world RPG gameplay, skills and more. A lot of what they speak of you've probably seen in the E3 gameplay and trailers of The Division, but it's good to hear an explanation of things from Barnard.

In The Division, the game takes place after a devastating pandemic sweeps through New York City right after Black Friday. One by one, basic services fail, and in a matter of days wihtout food and water, society collapses into chaos. The Division is a classified unit of self-supported tactical agents who are activated to restore order and save society.

I was able to see a private showing of The Division with a small group of journalists at a Ubisoft E3 event, and I was nothing if not impressed. I just wish the game was coming sooner, as it's currently slated for a 2015 release on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
