Ubisoft Reflections expanding Watch Dogs development team

Coming off its big debut at E3 last week, Watch Dogs has been the talk of the town and the UK developer is monitoring all of the reactions.

“Reflections has been attentively watching the reaction to Watch Dogs at E3,” Ubisoft Reflections general manager Giselle Stewart told GamesIndustry.

Watch Dogs has garnered much attention since its surprise showing at Ubisoft's press briefing. The game's stunning visuals, appealing gameplay, and unique concept of hacking into any connected electronic system anywhere caught the eyes of many. For a bunch of gamers tuning into E3, it was the highlight of E3 and has made a leap to the top of many gamer's highly-anticipated titles.

Of course, outside of what we were shown at E3, we don't really know much about Watch Dogs. We know that it focuses ont he concept that all people can be identified and tracked based on their electronic interactions. We know that it is an open-world action-adventure that "blends cutting-edge technologies and sophisticated game design into a realistic and living open world where players must use any means at their disposal to take down a corrupt system."

We also know that it will incorporate multiplayer gameplay – as shown at the end of the E3 gameplay footage – though we don't know exactly how it will work.

The big question surrounding Watch Dogs, however, is what platforms it will be released on. Ubisoft recently tweeted that the game will release in 2013 for PC and "consoles". As you can imagine, the lack of specification led many to believe that it could debut on next-gen consoles like the Xbox 720 or PS4.

The response to Watch Dogs has been so positive that Ubisoft Reflections is actually expanding its development team.

"The studio is very excited to be working with Ubisoft Montreal on this new IP, and is currently expanding its Newcastle-based team developing for the title. We have openings available for talented Creative Directors, Senior Gameplay Programmers and experienced GUI Artists."
