Ghost Recon is a staple in Ubisoft’s extensive catalog. They revamped the series in 2017 with Ghost Recon Wildlands, an open-world take on the co-op special ops series. It was received fairly well and Ubisoft wasted no time getting to work on a sequel that builds off that formula.
Today, the French studio announced Ghost Recon Breakpoint, a much more intense and deeper take on the series. The Ghosts are in hostile territory, massively outnumbered, seriously wounded, and facing their own… rogue Ghosts known as The Wolves led by Lt. Colonel Cole D. Walker (played by Punisher’s Jon Bernthal). Using scrappy tactics, the Ghosts will attempt to survive on the island of Aurora.
Aurora is home to facilities creating drones and other advanced technologies and has become under siege. Overcoming steep and dangerous terrain while avoiding the dangerous foes that know just how they operate, the Ghosts will face their most challenging operation yet.
Bringing over the freedom of Wildlands and combining it with the danger and savagery of Breakpoint, Ubisoft is aiming to create a really unique and interesting entry in the Ghost Recon series.
Ubisoft has also listened to fan feedback by allowing players to cut through fences, carry both teammates’ and enemy bodies, blend into the environment, and much more. On top of launching with a campaign and PVP, the developer also promises extensive post-launch content including raids, new classes, features, and more.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint will release this October 4th, 2019 on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
