Ubisoft has done everything to make it clear that we aren't getting a new Assassin's Creed this year (and might not next year either), but that doesn't mean Ubisoft won't talk about the next Assassin's Creed.
During a quarterly financial conference call, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot and CFO Alain Martinez briefly touched the subject of the next Assassin's Creed. Guillemot didn't want to give much away on the game and simply noted that they would release it when it was done, but it is being worked on.
“We can’t say much about that yet. We are working hard on this game, and it will be launched when ready.”
Martinez added that the upcoming game was shaping up to be something good:
“And it’s great game; Looking good”
Earlier this images of the new Assassin's Creed were leaked on two occasions. Both Leaks pointed at a game codenamed 'Empire' that would be set in Egypt. Apparently, the game would be a prequel, set in a time before the Templars and Assassins existed. According to the details leaked along with the images, players would be taking to role of a former slave.
We will have to wait until Assassin's Creed reveals the games to find out.
