While the racing genre has shifted from epic arcadey street racers to hardcore racing sims, Ubisoft is innovating on the streets studios like EA have long forgotten. A few years ago, Ubisoft released a massive open world racing game known as The Crew where players can traverse the entirety of the United States and at the end of June, we’ll be getting The Crew 2 which takes us to the skies and waters of the land of the free.
Luckily, fans won’t have to wait until the end of June to get their hands on the much-anticipated sequel as Ubisoft is holding a closed beta at the end of the month. Players can register for the beta right now by clicking here and signing up with their Ubisoft account. The beta will begin on May 31st and run until June 3rd on Xbox One, PS4, and PC with pre-loading for the 30 GB download available on May 29th.
The Crew 2’s beta will feature the first level of the game’s progression system in the entire open world which will see them take to the skies via plane, burning rubber in the streets of iconic cities, and coasting on the water under bridges like the Golden Gate Bridge. The best part is, all of these modes of transportation are available at the press of a button thanks to the Fast-Fav feature which will allow you to switch vehicles depending on the type of terrain you encounter.
For those of you with an Xbox One X or PS4 Pro, the beta will utilize all of the enhancements in the final game so you’ll be able to see how much of the power the game takes advantage of.
All participants will be notified by email before the beta begins. If you don’t get an invite but know a friend who got one, all beta participants will be granted three friend invites to give out to whomever they please. There’s no NDA or restrictions regarding sharing or streaming this beta so go wild.
The Crew 2 will release on Xbox One, PS4, and PC on June 29th, 2018.
