Uh oh, a Destiny bug allows people to complete SRL Record Book quests without paying

Destiny seems to have a lot of these little problems with glitches. Sometimes they're in the form of shitty rewards during Nightfall missions. Other times they're shitty rewards during Iron Banner. Now, the problem has gotten a whole lot bigger, at least for Bungie.

The newest item players can purchase from Eververse is the Sparrow Record Book, which allows players to note down accomplishments, like mini-quests, which yield otherwise unobtainable aesthetic gear. It costs $10. Players have found out that they can actually complete these challenges by looking at the book through the Eververse, and then clicking on each mission that was completed, bypassing the otherwise $10 required purchase.

Naturally, those that bought the book are pissed, while those that didn't are blissfully completing challenges. And hey, it totally works, we tried it.

If you want to get in on saving those $10, you better start racing now, as Bungie is well aware of the issue and will most likely issue a patch pretty damn soon.
