VG Chartz is reporting that Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception has broken records for the franchise, selling more than 1.1 million copies in the first week. Going by their other charts, Uncharted 3's record breaking sales are 30% higher than Uncharted 2's debut, which also sold and impressive 835,386 copies.
Uncharted 3's staggering opening week sales not only make it the highest for the PS3 exclusive franchise, but also the 4th biggest exclusive launch for a PlayStation 3 game, trailing only Gran Turismo 5, Metal Gear Solid 4, and God of War 3.
Moving forward it's hard to predict exactly how sales will trend with the PS3 exclusive, but with Uncharted 2: Among Thieves lifetime sales nearing 5 million, it's conceivable (and probable) that Uncharted 3 will surpass those numbers. Uncharted 3 received rave reviews from many media outlets, including our own, and has scored an impressive 93 out of 100 on Metacritic.
