After several delays, Playstation 4's arguably biggest exclusive Uncharted 4: A Thief's End is finally releasing this Tuesday, May 10th. Originally slated to drop for Holiday 2015, the latest installment in the Uncharted series met several road blocks with behind the scenes drama and some last minute polishing.
With its predecessors considered some of the greatest games of all time (Among Thieves and Drake's Deception sit on Metacritic with a 95 and 92, respectfully), fans of the series have feared that the final installment in this beloved franchise would not live up to be the grand swan song we've all been expecting. With the review embargo for the game now over, it seems that our fears are unsubstantiated.
Uncharted 4 has been met with extremely positive reviews, and as revealed by WCCFTech, it is currently sitting at 94 on Metacritic. Whilst that score is impressive by itself, what is even more remarkable is that this makes it the highest rated game of this console generation. Barring remakes and remasters (sorry The Last of Us), Uncharted 4 reigns supreme over all other PS4, Xbox One and Wii U titles, making it seemingly the grand finale fans had been hoping for. It'll be interesting to see what game, if any, dethrones Naughty Dog's latest release.
