Uncharted 4 sells nearly 3 million copies in first week

Greatness from small beginnings.

PlayStation's number one franchise just wrapped up its story a few weeks ago with the release of Uncharted 4: A Thief's End. The game was met with critical acclaim and was seen as the best in the nearly decade long running series, some even went as far as to say it was the best game they have ever played. The beloved cinematic adventure game also averages out to a well above average 93 on Metacritic making the highest rated original game of this generation.

Clearly the positive buzz worked in the game's favor as PlayStation's official blog reports that the game has sold over 2.7 million copies to consumers digitally and physically. To put those numbers in perspective, Uncharted 3 shipped nearly 4 million to stores on the day of release, but there was never any reports that detailed how many copies were sold to consumers.

If you want another statistic, earlier this year Sony reported they had sold about 36 million PS4's. Sticking with that number even though it has more than likely increased since then, that means at least roughly 7.5% of people with PS4's own a copy of Uncharted 4 making it the best selling first-party game on PS4.

In other Uncharted 4 news, Naughty Dog dished some details on how they made Uncharted 4 accessible to almost everyone, no matter what sort of disability you may have. It's very clear Naughty Dog cares about their fans and the gaming industry as a whole by delivering stellar stories, great gameplay, and giving everyone the opportunity to play their games regardless of their disabilities.

Uncharted 4: A Thief's End is out now exclusively on PlayStation 4.
