Uncharted Creative Director has left Naughty Dog seemingly to join The Avengers project

Looks like Crystal Dynamics has acquired some big-time talent.

Shaun Escayg, the Creative Director on 2017’s Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, and who has been with developer Naughty Dog since the “infancy” stages of The Last of Us has departed the studio. It’s not unheard of for high ranking members to leave studios to pursue other things, and it seems as though this is the case, as Escayg posted an image of The Avengers logo to his Instagram alongside a nod to “new adventures” in 2018.

Crystal Dynamics, the studio behind the Tomb Raider reboot series, is working on an Avengers game, so it’s entirely possible that this is Escayg’s next stop. To be fair, he has neither officially confirmed nor denied such plans.

In his time at Naughty Dog, Escayg worked on The Last of Us, its DLC Left Behind, and Uncharted 4 before landing the Creative Director job on The Lost Legacy.

On Twitter, Escayg said that he would miss those he worked with at the studio in a heartfelt and reflective tweet.

Good luck to Shaun in all of his future endeavors.
