Can you imagine an Uncharted game without Nathan Drake? It's not easy to think of the Uncharted series continuing on without the protagonist that offered so much to series – it's almost like having a Tomb Raider game without Lara Croft.
When Naughty Dog's Uncharted 4: A Thief's End writer Josh Scherr sat down with the Official PlayStation Magazine he was posed a difficult question – could he see Uncharted moving forward without Drake? It's a good question to ask, seeing as A Thief's End has been suggested to be the last of the series.
"I don't know. That's a good question," he commented. "I think one thing that's been great about this series is that we have created this…I hate to use the word universe because Marvel's been overusing it, but we've created this world where ancient civilisations remain undiscovered and lots of charismatic and unscrupulous treasure hunters exist to go and pursue these.
"I suppose you could tell a story in that world without Nathan Drake, but it's…in some ways it's a little bit hard to imagine."
So, while its hard to imagine, Scherr is telling us there's chance.
