Bungie has released a new trailer that highlights the many facets of Europa. The icy moon of Jupiter is the new location of the upcoming expansion for Destiny 2: Beyond Light. Check out the trailer here!
While the reality of searching for extraterrestrial life on other planets has gotten exciting with recent discoveries of Phosphine in the atmosphere of Venus, Bungie has a much more action-packed revelation to make about Jupiter’s frozen moon Europa in Beyond Light. Albeit fictional but that shouldn’t hamper the enjoyment.
A desolate wasteland where every gust of frozen wind whispers long-lost secrets and further buries the mysteries beneath your feet. You arrive on the heels of a dark empire that grows in power. Stand against the blizzard and press on, Guardian. Eramis must be stopped.
A dark obelisk silently beckons you, watching from a barren clearing on the frozen moon. Those who came before you did not leave this place gracefully. The ruins of a once-bustling cityscape tell a tale of ambition and loss. And somewhere beneath centuries of ice, lost Golden Age technology awaits your steady grasp. Seek the truth, wherever it lies.
In Destiny 2: Beyond Light, players will get more than just comfortable with Europa as it marks the major new location for the upcoming large expansion. But unlike real-life, in Destiny 2 Europa is teeming with life. And most of it wants to kill you. Apart from foes, Europa is also harboring ancient secrets and maybe even hidden truths beneath its thick frozen crust.
Beyond Light marks an important turning point for both Bungie and Destiny as a whole. It’s the first big new direction for the franchise after the developer parted ways with Activision and went fully independent.
The Beyond Light expansion for Destiny 2 is due out November 10th for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Google Stadia. You can pre-order the expansion starting at $39.99 via Bungie. The popular live service shooter is also coming to next-gen consoles PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series in the future.
