Universal announces dates for Furious 8, Fifty Shades sequels, and more

Universal Pictures has announced release dates for a number of upcoming movies, including Fast & Furious 8, Fifty Shades of Grey's two sequels, and a number of other highly anticipated films.

Following a touching tribute to the late Paul Walker, Vin Diesal took the stage at CinemaCon to announce Fast & Furious 8's release date of April 14, 2017. It'll be the first new film in the popular Fast & Furious franchise since the death of star actor Paul Walker, who was killed in a car crash in November 2013.

Other films dated include Fifty Shades Darker (February 10, 2017) and Fifty Shades Freed (February 9, 2018), sequels to the panty dropping Fifty Shades of Grey, which earned $568.8 million worldwide. Basically, your Valentine's Day date is set for the next two years.

The Mummy has been moved from Jun 24, 2016 to March 24, 2017.

Legendary's Warcraft, an adaptation of Blizzard's popular video game franchise, was pushed backed a few months from March 11, 2016 to June 10, 2016. It will now compete with Sony's action-adventure Uncharted. Pacific Rim 2 was also moved from April 7, 2017 to Friday, August 4, 2017.
