I was never one to get excited for 3D re-releases. I was already appaled that the Titanic has been given that same treatment. Three straight hours of stereoscopic mediocre acting in one sitting? No thanks! However, I can't help but but excited for Jurassic Park's 3D re-release. As it stands, the first movie was by far the most compelling and actually deserves the 3D treatment it will be getting.
Well apparently the folks at Universal Pictures want you to see it too, and sooner than you expected. The movie's 2013 release date has officially been changed from July 18th to April 5th.
This isn't the only Spielberg movie that was deemed worthy of a re-release. Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark is also getting a re-release this September, albeit not in 3D, but on a huge IMAX screen. It is scheduled to run from September 7th through September 13th, so get your fedoras and whips ready.
