Universal might resurrect The Mummy with female villain

In 1999, Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz successfully defeated a resurrected mummy. And after all that, it appears as though Universal is looking to breathe life back into The Mummy, but this time without a bad boy mummy.

Instead, the film could feature a bad girl mummy. According to The Hollywood Reporter director Alex Kurtzman and writer Jon Spaihts have crafted two unique stories, one with a male mummy and one with a female mummy.

The gender for the villain will depend entirely on who appeals to the directors the most during casting.

Well, here's to the mummy's mostly naked friend to be the concept of the new bad guy or girl (whatever).
