Unlock Promo Content for Deus Ex: Human Revolution on Facebook

Eidos Montreal is encouraging gamers to “like” the Deus Ex: Human Revolution Facebook page. Doing so will unlock bonus materials for fans of the series to check out before the game’s launch. So if you have a Facebook account and are eagerly awaiting the game’s launch, you’ll probably want to make the effort. Helping to reach Eidos Montreal’s planned milestones will reward gamers with “making of” videos, gameplay footage, wallpapers, and more.

Eidos Montreal Community Manager Kyle Stallock stated that this new program was intended to give loyal fans something in return for their years of support. “Deus Ex has one of the most passionate, vocal, and dedicated communities in all of video games, so offering a program that rewards that loyalty–even before the game is released–is a great way for us to give something back,” said Stallock. “The Facebook community now has significant control over the release schedule for some of our favorite assets. We have a ton of surprises and unlockables, so fans should invite their friends to ‘like’ the page and start collecting these rewards.”

The company revealed a special wallpaper after the Human Revolution Facebook page received 10,000 “likes.” The company has confirmed that there are more than 90 rewards for Facebook users as the page continues to get thumbs up. These include concept art, gameplay screens, and details regarding the game’s story, weapons, and Augmentations.

I really enjoy when video game publishers and developers reach out to the community. It’s something you see a lot more in the indie scene, so it’s pretty cool that a bigger company like Eidos Montreal is giving extra content to the fans through Facebook. If you have yet to “like” the Deus Ex: Human Revolution page and want to see more before the game’s release, be sure to click the “thumbs up” button on the social networking site.
