Unloved is a gory, hardcore first person shooter that is based on the award-winning Doom 2 mod of the same name (it's the same creator too, no worries). Unloved has been reimagined in Unreal Engine 4 with state-of-the-art visuals, sound effects, and gameplay. Here is the official description from the game's Steam page:
"UNLOVED is a strange place. A twisted reality. A nightmare that comes to life. A place where demons and abhorrent monsters manifest and possess the living with only one goal: to end you. Nothing wants you here. And there is no way out. Only the elevator that leads further and further down into the darkness of your insanity."
You can play Unloved both solo or co-op in a group of up to four players. The game's levels are procedurally arranged so that you never have the same experience twice. As you progress, you will unlock new areas and weapon mods while solving personal challenges and completing level objectives.
Here are the game's main features:
- Randomly arranged Levels
- Fast Paced Shooter Gameplay + Coop
- Create your own unique Persona and Play-Style
- Find Weapon-Mods to be more efficient
- Gain Karma by completing personal Challenges
- Unlock new Items
Unloved has been on Steam's Early Access program for about a year, releasing on August 25th, 2015. But the full version of the game is just around the corner, as Paul Schneider, the game's lone developer has announced via Unloved's Steam Forum that it will be releasing on September 29th, 2016. If you want to check out the game right now, you can head over to Steam and pick it up for $14.99.
