Until Dawn dev’s thriller Man of Medan comes out this August

Bandai Namco has announced the release date for Man of Medan. The first entry into the Dark Pictures Anthology of horror-adventure games. Developed by the talented folks at Supermassive Games, Man of Medan will launch on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this August 30th. Check out the new trailer!

Supermassive Games announced their new project last summer and while the genre of the game wasn’t a surprise, it’s platforms were for sure. The British game developer was basically a PlayStation Exclusive studio. Its biggest success was 2015’s horror-adventure game Until Dawn and as such many fans were hoping for a sequel. Man of Medan looks very similar to Until Dawn in terms of gameplay but the title is not a PlayStation exclusive and will release on the PC and Xbox One as well.

Man of Medan is the first game in The Dark Pictures anthology, bringing supernatural horror to the South Pacific. Five friends set sail on a holiday diving trip with a rumored WWII wreck to find. As the day unfolds and a storm rolls in, their trip soon changes into something much more sinister. Who will live? Who will die? It’s down to you. Can you save them all?

Now, we also know the exact date Man of Medan will release. On August 30th, gamers will be able to experience a thrilling horror adventure where a group of American tourists find themselves trapped on a cursed ghost ship. Reader who played Until Dawn will immediately be able to conjure up tense scenarios where the lives of the protagonists hangs with split-second decisions.

Fascinating about The Dark Pictures Anthology is that Supermassive Games plans to create several horror-adventure games which will feature the similar great cinematic gameplay of Until Dawn but each game will be a standalone experience. Pre-orders are live now at just $29.99.
