Until Dawn has gone gold

Supermassive Games' upcoming PlayStation 4 exclusive, Until Dawn, has officially gone gold, the developer announced today.

In doing so, it means development on the game is completely finished (save for possible DLC that may arrive in the future) and ready to go into mass production. More importantly, it means it's safe to get hyped for its August 25th release as we don't have to worry about any delays.

For those unfamiliar, Until Dawn is a survival-horror game, with gameplay in the same vein as Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls. In it, you'll take turns playing as different characters, friends, trapped together on a remote mountain retreat with a psychopathic murderer stalking them. Gameplay is similar to that of Quantic Dreams' titles, in that you'll be presented with multiple actions and the decisions you make will have lasting impact on the story you experience. So in a sense, your actions will determine who survives. But no pressure or anything.
