Up your game with the MOGA Pro Controller, available today from major retailers

Last year gamers got a pretty solid alternative to touch-based gaming on their smart phones. The MOGA controller (Mobile Games Controller) provided Android phones with analog pads and buttons to replace the more inaccurate touchscreen. While I loved that I could play a lot of my favorite games like Modern Combat 3 and N.O.V.A. 3 with real controls, the lack of a d-pad, as it turns out, didn't make the games feel as perfect as they should.

The MOGA Pro controller aims to rectify all of this. Modeled much like an Xbox 360 controller, of which I am a huge fan of, this new controller will feature two fully featured analog sticks that are also clickable, d-pad, four action buttons, two shoulder buttons and two shoulder triggers.

President of PowerA, Eric Bensussen said:

"When gamers put the MOGA Pro Controller in their hands, there's an instant familiarity. As the recognized leader with impressive developer support and a growing list of top games including MADFINGER's Dead Trigger and Gameloft's Modern Combat 4, we're giving mobile gamers a console-style experience, with an Android device that they already own."

The MOGA Pro Controller is available today at major retailers like Target.com, Best Buy, GameStop and Walmart. While it retails for $49.99, the added controls make this purchase worthwhile, especially if you're a fan of mobile gaming. Not to mention, you also get a free download of N.O.V.A. 3. Not too shabby!

If you're still unsure about the purchase, make sure to check out our hands-on with the MOGA Pro Controller at PAX East 2013.
