Upcoming to Star Wars: The Old Republic

Star Wars: The Old Republic game director James Ohlen talks about the future of SWTOR.  In this clip featured at the end of this article, he talks about PvE, PvP, guild, and customization changes.  Ohlen says that BioWare has kept the same developing team together – this allows for the team to continue the same kind of quality throughout updates.

PvP has been a popular hot topic as recent, especially with the catastrophe on Ilum.  BioWare is promising more end game PvP content.  That’s always a good start.  With this content will be a ranking system to see how you compare with others.  Seeing just where you fall on the ole ladder boards is a nice feature.  Also, they are adding new Warzones, rumored to be part of the next large content page estimated to be in March, “In addition to that high level PVP content, expect new Warzones and new PvP features on a regular basis.”

A player requeste which BioWare is answering is for guild banks.  Past popular MMOs have used this feature and now SWTOR is adapting it.  From the video, it looks like there will be tiers of bank shelves and guild money storage.

James Ohlen talked a bit about the Legacy system.  No specific details were mentioned but a general idea of what BioWare would like to do with it was mentioned.  Legacy will grant all your characters with that same Legacy surname bonus skills and abilities.  This gives players benefits for both their mains and alts at the same time.

Customizable interface is another up and coming thing.  In the video it shows someone enlarging / shirking any UI box and moving any UI box.  The system looked really simple and should grant the sort of UI customization players have been asking for.

The video ends with Ohlen talking about how the SWTOR community are really the ones that BioWare is listening to for what they want as far as new content is concerned.  They want you to post your ideas and leave feedback.
