Update: Today, Sony put to rest those quick rumors about FFIX and made an official announcement at the TGS. In their press conference, the company took the chance to make the announcement and talk about some few enhancements that the HD port will have.
The game will come with a couple improvements in the quality of the movies and character models, auto safe mode, a trophy system for those trophy hunters and two optional game boosters (High speed mode and no encounter mode).
Not only the game was officially announced today, but it is also available for download today! Get your digital copy from the PlayStation store now available worldwide at a discounted price until September 26th.
Original: Final Fantasy IX is one of the most beloved and remembered entries in the Final Fantasy series. When Final Fantasy IX released in 2000 it was almost immediately met with critical acclaim. According to a rating from the Pan European Game Information (PEGI), FFIX could be making a return, this time on PS4.
The site rates the game as PEGI +12 due to its amount of violence and mild bad language. Unfortunately, game ratings do not detail what technical improvements the game will have on the PS4. We’ll have to wait for an official announcement either from Square-Enix or from Sony.
The reveal could be coming during TGS 2017 or during the PlayStation Experience. No news of a rating for Xbox One has been seen.
