Update (Rerepublished on 05/14)
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare has one of the most hated trailers of all time and is now the 2nd most hated video on ALL of YouTube, passing such horrible songs like 'Friday' by Rebecca Black.
The official list for the most hated YouTube videos hasn't been updated properly yet and lists the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare trailer as only the 4th most hated, but when looking at the individual videos' dislike numbers we can clearly see that Infinite Warfare has risen to the number 2 spot.
The trailer has amassed over 2.11 million dislikes, which is more that Rebecca Black's 2.08 million on 'Friday'. Though it seems like a someone attacked both the Infinite Warfare trailer and the Reveal for Battlefield 1 with a bot, making the numbers of dislikes and likes unbelievably high in a very short time.
Maybe Activision's decision to release a Call of Duty Modern Warfare trilogy bundle is a way of winning back the less than pleased fans.
Update (Republished on 5/10)
The Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare trailer is now the 4th most hated video of all time on YouTube, passing Psy's 'Gangnam Style' and Miley Cyrus' 'Wrecking Ball'.
The official list for most disliked videos hasn't update yet and still lists Infinite Warfare as the 5th most hated, but when you click the individual videos the numbers shows who is more hated. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare has 1,518,832 dislikes while 'Gangnam Style' has 1,503,559 dislikes, making Infinite Warfare take the 4th place on the list.
The interesting thing is that the other videos on the list has taken years to amount all of their likes and dislikes, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare has only been out for a week and is already on the list. At this rate maybe it will even pass Justin Bieber's 'Baby' with a total of 6,101,515 dislikes.
Original Story (Published on 5/9)
Yep, the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare trailer is in the top 10 list of most hated videos on YouTube, that's quite an achievement.
The fact that the Infinite Warfare trailer has more dislikes than likes is old news, but the trailer that was released on May 2 and already has 14,000,000 plus views has already managed to enter the top 10 most hated videos list. With its 1.2 million dislikes the Infinite Warfare trailer has claimed the 8th spot on the list, in between 'Strong' from 'RPerry' and 'Anaconda' by 'Nicki Minaj'.
Seems like the fans didn't really want the sci-fi setting that the Infinite Warfare trailer showed, they want to go back to basics, to WW I like what's happening in Battlefield 1
The Infinite Warfare trailer and the Battlefield 1 trailer is like night and day. Infinite Warfare has 14 million views and 1.2 million dislikes, Battlefield 1 has 19 million views and only 19,000 dislikes. That says one of two things.
The fans are tired of the futuristic settings and they want to go back to basics, back to a "real" video game war… Or it is just popular to hate on CoD. The CoD hate train is nothing new and for a long time DICE and Battlefield has gotten more leeway from the fans and players than Activision's Call of Duty games.
Even though Infinite Warfare has gotten so many dislikes the pre-orders are already going strong, and Activision's Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg says that there is nothing to worry about.
"We have seen this in the franchise before: the reveal trailer for Black Ops II, which took the franchise into the future for the first time, had the most dislikes of any reveal trailer we have ever made at that time, and that of course went on to become our most successful game ever."
Only time will tell if the number of dislikes actually came from fans of the Call of Duty series or from those how just hates on Call of Duty because it it cool to do so on the internet.
