[UPDATE] Nintendo is giving away 4 legendary Pokemon this month

This month, Nintendo will be giving away four legendary Pokemon prior to the release of Pokemon: Sun and Moon.

The debut of the Pokemon series' latest set of sequels, Sun and Moon, is just over a month away. With 2016 being the official 20th anniversary, Nintendo has opted to give away several of their most powerful legendaries to strengthen your team before the release.

[UPDATE] The Darkrai code is unattainable if you've already collected it from the previous 20th anniversary event.

For the month of October, you have the opportunity to get your hands on Keldeo, Darkrai, Hoopa, and Volcanion. Keldeo can be acquired through the usual Mystery Gift option, but Darkrai, Hoopa, and Volcanion require a code to redeem:

Keldeo Lvl 100 (Mystery Gift)

Ability: Justified

Item: PP Max

Moves:

• Aqua Jet
• Leer
• Double Kick
• Bubble beam

Darkrai Lvl 100 (Code- DARKRAI20)

Ability: Bad Dreams

Item: Enigma Berry

Moves:

• Dark Void
• Ominous Wind
• Nightmare
• Feint Attack

Hoopa Lvl 50 (Code- 2016HOOPA)

Ability: Magician

Item: Smoke Ball

Moves:

• Hyperspace Hole
• Psychic
• Astonish
• Nasty plot

The first three Pokemon are available now, but as for Volcanion, you'll have to wait just a little bit longer. Gamestop and EB Games will be distributing codes for the level 70 legendary in their store locations starting October 10-31.
