[UPDATE] Star Wars: The Force Awakens toys to be revealed this weekend

***Update***

A representative from Vandor has provided a statement on the subject, confirming the company will not have merchandise for Rogue One on display this weekend. Instead, Vandor will feature merchandise from Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

While Disney made a big spectacle of Star Wars: The Force Awakens merchandise — dedicating an entire day to all the different toys and action figures related to the movie — it seems things will be a bit quieter for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

Merchandise related to the first Star Wars spin-off film will reportedly be revealed this weekend at the New York Toy Fair. But not all toymakers will be participating. Hasbro has apparently already announced they will not be revealing any Rogue One figures; however, according to a now-removed tweet from Justin LaSalata of Jedi News, Vandor will be showcasing the first of Rogue One merchandise. It's unclear what that will entail, but we're excited to find out.

LEGO recently revealed at the Nuremberg Toy Fair a specific Star Wars: Rogue One set, featuring what appears to be Boba Fett's ship. Costumes for various characters in the film were also on display.

Star Wars: A Rogue One Story — the first of Disney's planned Anthology films set in the Star Wars universe — isn't set to hit theaters until December of this year. However, merchandise surrounding the film are expected to become available around June.

As spotted by Making Star Wars, a Rogue One calendar is set to be published on June 1, 2016, according Amazon. It's possible this is just a placeholder, especially given how much in advance of the film's theaterical debut this would be. Comparatively, merchandise for The Force Awakens wasn't released until three months prior to the film's debut as to avoid spoilers. Of course, while we don't know the details, I'm pretty sure we all know how the mission to steal plans for the Empire's Death Star turns out.

Set between the third (Revenge of the Sith) and fourth (A New Hope) films in the core Star Wars saga, Rogue One tells the story of resistance fighters who have united to steal plans to the dreaded Death Star. The highly anticipated film debuts in theaters on December 16, 2016.
