Updated: Tropico 5 delayed for PS4

Update: Kalypso has sound reasoning and is giving the PS4 'The Big Cheese' DLC as consolation for the delay!

We want to give PlayStation owners the best possible Tropico experience so we decided to give Tropico 5 a little more time in the final stages of development. With this in mind we have moved the release until early in Q1 2015. As a thank you for your patience we will include the first micro DLC, The Big Cheese, free of charge to anyone purchasing the PlayStation 4 and Xbox 360 versions of Tropico 5 – Kalypso Media.

Tropico 5 is having a tough time making it off of the and into the console of video games.

After being banned in Thailand (apparently it's a threat to national security) and delayed until November for the Xbox 360, it has now been delayed for the PlayStation 4. The PS4 hasn't had a good year for games releasing on time, but maybe Kalypso has good reason for delaying their console ports. I don't know about you, but I'd rather have a functioning (and pretty) game on the console than a game that was rushed.

Kalypso is offering the first DLC pack (The Big Cheese) for free on the Xbox 360 as consolation for the delay, so, perhaps will be seeing the same deals for the PS4.

Tropico 5 released for MAC and Linux users today…So it's got that goin' for it, which is nice.

Tropico 5 is coming to Mac and Linux September 19th! Are you ready? #tropico pic.twitter.com/xTdQyz8C7P
