Fans of the criminally underrated Valkyria Chronicles series in the US don't have to wait much longer to get their hands on Valkyria Revolution, which to be clear, is a spinoff, not a sequel. In a post on the PlayStation Blog, SEGA revealed that Valkyria Revolution would be launching in the United States on June 27th, and in Europe on June 30th. The game will release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PlayStation Vita, with the Vita version being digital-only.
If you are planning to pick up Valkyria Revolution on Day 1, SEGA has a special limited edition you might be interested in. Called the Vanargand Edition, this limited-time physical edition comes with a collectible metal pin with the Vanargand Coat of Arms, 12-track soundtrack by Yasunori Mitsuda (Chrono Trigger, Stella Glow), and a special outer box.
Here's what that looks like:
Valkyria Revolution takes place in an alternate timeline, continent, and universe that its Chronicles predecessor. The game has also changed up its combat system to be more fast-paced and real-time oriented but aims to maintain the same level of strategy that the original games were known for.
Valkyria Revolution releases on June 27th, 2017 in the US, and June 30th in Europe for PS4, PS Vita, and Xbox One.
