Valve gives developers control over Steam sales

Valve has just made Steam a whole lot friendlier for developers — and for gamers, too, who will get to enjoy more sales than ever.

Developers who sell games on the Steam digital-distribution service now have the option of creating their own sales — whenever and for whatever price — as well as participating in upcoming week-long deals. Previously, developers had to work privately with Valve to set up sales, but now Valve has given them more freedom.

Sales can last up to two weeks. Developers can discount titles through Steamworks.

As if Steam wasn't bursting with sales already.
